Born: 1697 at Ulster County Down, Ireland.  

Immigration: 1718 from Ireland to Prince George County, Virginia with Father and two brothers.
Occupation: Blacksmith

Virginia Land Patent: October 13, 1727 Laughlin Flyn. 300 acres both sides of Leadbiters Creek in
Prince George Co. PB 13, p.278 [The only Ledbetter Creek found in VA today is South of the
Nottoway in the NE corner of Lunenburg Co] For the importation of two persons, Robert Stoker
and Elizabeth Stoker This land ended up in the hands of one Abraham Jones, was never cultivated
and taken up by Frederick Jones in 1749.
Virginia Land Patent: 22 Sep 1739 Laughlin Flyn, 800 acres Amelia Co, N side Nottoway River
at head of fork of Bear Branch and head of a branch of Horsepen Creek. Adj. Abraham Cock PB 18, p.400
Will: Laughlin mentioned his wife, but did not name her. Although he named specifically four sons and
a godson (grandson) by name he also used the phrase "all my children". It is doubtful, but always possible
there were others
Name of wife: Elizabeth was the given name of Laughlin's wife - no document that has been found states
her surname. Stokes, or Stoker, is generally accepted by tradition but without proof. This tradition seems
to be based on the fact that a Virginia land grant to Laughlin Flynn was granted for the importation of Robert
and Elizabeth Stoker,. Patent Book 12, p.273.

Married: Elizabeth Flinn (born Stokes) 1718 in Prince George, Virginia.  

Died: on September 24, 1758 in Lunenburg Co., Virginia.
